Podcast #42 saw a slight departure from the usual indie stuff that tends to make up the majority of my playlists. It was merely a chance for me to indulge myself in some of my more established signed favourites as I had been revisiting a number of older albums. So, it was kind of an album revisitation special, if you will.
Kicking off from Sam’s Town are The Killers before jumping forward to Kings of Leon‘s Only By Night. A massive jump back to 2001 with Morning View by Incubus, then back another whole decade for one from Nirvana‘s Nevermind before a more recent tune from Linkin Park off of the Transformers 2 soundtrack. I’m still yet to see the fourth movie, by the way. The laborious borefest that was the third one kind of puts me off. That said, I actually rather enjoyed the first two movies.
2007 provides a song from Crowded House‘s Time On Earth, a visit to 1999’s The Man Who by Travis and then a live gem from Mary Gauthier‘s Live At Blue Rock. In its 20th anniversary year there’s one from The Levellers‘ Zeitgeist, a classic from Sigh No More by Mumford & Sons and a true classic from The Bee Gees. A return to The Killers closes this show.
