Oh yes. Time for another post delving into the superb sounds Soundcloud has to offer us this Soundcloud Sunday. After you’re done here do go back and check over the previous Soundcloud Sunday posts. It is mostly a waffle-free/lite post, the ultimate aim of which is to just share some great quality music with you that is up there for your convenience at bands/musicians/artists/PR/record label Soundcloud pages. A slight irony that just as when I was putting together Soundcloud Sunday #3 and had just received Tom McRae‘s brand-spanking new album Did I Sleep And Miss The Border (buy it via >>here<<), I have myriadsliterally just received Officer‘s brand-spanking new – and as yet unreleased – debut album Myriads to wrap fully around my eager ears. Very excited! Thank you kind Officer for this wonderful gift. I’ve shared his most recent Soundcloud upload below which is the final track, AFM on Myriads. Now make sure you’re first in the know regards the release date for the album by liking the Facebook page >>here<<. You wouldn’t want to miss out and have to kick yourself really hard now would you? I very much subscirbe to a pacifist way of life but if you don’t buy this album when it does come out even I might have to give you a bit of a kick. Just kidding, but seriously you’re going to need this music in your life. It will make it infinitely better!

OFFICER

AFM

Stunning! As I say, I cannot wait to hit play on Myriads as soon as this post is finished.

NILS FRAHM

SAYS

It is difficult to come back down far enough to the surface of this earth to write any words about this insanely awesome music from Nils Frahm. Jack Horscraft describes it pretty perfectly in his write up from a live performance he went to last week. He does it far better justice than anything I could write here based just on hearing recordings. Have a read >>here<<

And Says. WOW! I write this post from the highest clouds in the highest dimension. Seriously!

JACK CARTY

ESK

I consider myself incredibly lucky to have been able to catch this terrifically talented Australian singer-songwriter support the brilliant Blair Dunlop a few night’s ago. Blair shared the story of how they both met while he was in Australia himself and how he had been blown out the water by the song Jack sang at that songwriting event. I was blown away by the both of them at the gig to be honest but can fully see what Blair meant. Check out the entire album Esk below. http://www.jackcarty.com/

CHRIS RIFFLE

CLOSER WHERE I WANNA BE

Across the pond to enjoy this new single from NYC-based indie-folk artist Chris Riffle. It is the third one to be released from his recent album Out of Town (which you can grab from iTunes >>here<<). Closer Where I Wanna Be is a wonderful breath of fresh air so get it in your ears now folks.

AMBER LADD

VENUS MARS

Staying over the pond but stepping over the border to Toronto, Canada for some beautiful serene and ambient electronic music from Amber Ladd. Venus Mars and all the tracks up at Amber Ladd‘s soundcloud page get the thumbs up from me. Amazing stuff! There’s some truly awesome experimental music going on here.

ARSTIDIR

HIMINHVEL

It was pure luck I was scrolling through the Facebook ‘feed’ late one night recently to find a post by percussionist Evan Carson sharing his joy at having seen this Icelandic band live that night in London. I jumped on the music instantly and have been listening since. It is MAGIC! This song was the first to greet me and just from the opening few seconds I knew I would become an ardent fan of whatever music they’re making. The rest of the album is available to hear so I suggest you hurry up and get on it!

GOLDSMACK

WILD SEASON

Some seriously satisfying psychedelic power pop for you here from this…

trio of Gold-scented, Gold junkies, created to bring dischord and entropy into the world of pop music with a sound that is soft and electric, quirky and genuine, super serious and absolutely whimsical. To define Goldsmack, just imagine that Love, Bruce Haack and Nico teamed up to compose a song for a Disney classic. And now, sit down, relax, surrender and enjoy the sound of Goldsmack for the Star is about to rise, leap and howl…

The very bio up at their Soundcloud page was just far too perfect and brilliantly put for me to write something else. This is marvellous music folks. Hit play NOW!

B FORREST

BACK TO BODHI

This is divine! Back To Bhodi, for me, conveys a unique fusing together of different styles of music – blues, rock, folk, soul, jazz and more – that all combine to produce something well beyond beautiful. There’s a truly progressive feel to certain parts that put in mind the rockier progressive type of stuff you might think of but then the delightfully lighter more folkier and soulful elements come up to the fore to remind you this is something altogether different. Unique is a word I used above and this is uniqe at its purest. This is music to get lost in.

DAVEIT FERRIS

It has been far too long again but as you know well, there are only so many free hours in the day. So, definitely time to check back in on Daveit Ferris‘ manic #365sparks music project. 365 days, 365 songs! Insane but amazing. The brilliant output continues so here are four for you to check out. More up at the Soundcloud page and you can support/buy his music at the website. http://www.365sparks.com/

#136 MIXTAPES AND A BOTTLE OF CHEAP RED WINE

#133 AN ARTIST MUST STARVE / AN ARTIST MUST FEAST

GOVERNOR’S LUCK

DROP EVERYTHING

I did share this outstanding album on Soundcloud Sunday #2 but quite frankly, it is a MUST BUY for you so I think those of you who did not Drop Everything and go buy it really need to rectify your utter folly this instant! Go on. A simple little click >>here<< and a few more clicks make it yours. Not only this but any London readers or anyone who happens to find themselves in the London area on Saturday 27th June need to get tickets to see this awesome band live at this Absent Kelly Introducing gig at Surya, Kings Cross. Click >>here<< for more info. And don’t forget I might be foregoing my usual pacifist nature to give kicks to any who don’t buy such worthy music. Not that I’m trying to coerce. It would only be slight kicking. Don’t find out though, BUY the album!
