9th TO 11th JULY 2015
Time, as ever, speeds on at such a pace its force leaves me with a little bit of motion sickness to be honest. As tickets for the likes of 2000 Trees and Truck Festivals continue to fly out so fast they leave a trail of hot hazy ground dust in their wake, I thought it best to step up a gear and crack on with this Festival Fever ’15 preview series. With Cambridge Folk and Beautiful Days done, Larmar Tree and Mosely Folk to come, not forgetting the local Northampton Music Festival to squeeze in, the next two in the feature will be taking a very brief look at the aforementioned 2000Trees and Truck.
So, first up it is off to the rolling Cotswold Hills for the multi-award winning 2000trees, one I’ve not managed to get to yet myself, sadly. It is one that has ever been on my radar though, for a good few years now. Perhaps next year I can wangle a press ticket and finally get to cover the awesomeness it offers. Like Truck, 2000Trees is a shorter two day event but by no means are you ever short-changed on the amount of live music on offer, nor by the quality of that music. With more than 80 of the best new and underground rock and indie acts to blow your musical minds there’s also some more established bands/musicians as well. The intimate atmosphere provides you with 2 nights camping and a wide range of tasty food and locally produced ciders, ales and lagers for your revelling pleasure. You are guaranteed much merriment and joy!
Not only this, but to help limit your carbon footprint there’s the Big Green Coach which runs from Cheltenham Spa railway station to the festival site on the Thursday (between 12:15-16:15) and Friday (10:15-14:15). So, grab one of the VERY few tickets left (ONLY 500 at the last update) and all you need do is bundle your stuff in your rucksack, strap on your tent and get on that festival-bound train for a weekend of absolute merry music mayhem. http://www.twothousandtreesfestival.co.uk/
Let’s have a brief look at some of the musical finery who will be there to astound you at this awesome festie.
